Abstract

What The Blood Requires: Poems addresses the complex relationship between self and place, exploring the manner in which memory – personal and historical – stamps the individual and her perception of the environment around her. The works included in the volume include poems in received forms (including sestinas, sonnets, and villanelles) and in free verse.
