Abstract
The Never Game is a collection of short stories. The stories in this collection are works of realism focused on the inner lives of people in moments of crisis. Some of the crises these characters encounter are caused by external forces, while others are self-inflicted, and the situations of the stories are often made worse by self-delusion. These stories are also concerned with the difficulty of communication and connection in daily life. The characters struggle to express their emotions, and when an opportunity for human connection arises it is thwarted by the characters’ own resistance to closeness.
