Abstract
"Wintering in West Alton" is an exploration in place and identity. The collection is driven by the Mississippi River and the small river towns lining its banks near Alton, Illinois and St. Louis, Missouri. It is an experiment in form, voice, and style, investigating the dynamic relationship between physical landscape and self.
