Abstract
My collection of poems focus on speakers who enjoy being alone. They don’t always feel lonely, but loneliness does present itself occasionally. Music and relationships are big themes. Many of the pieces take place at night when everything surrounding the speakers is at peace. These moments especially gave a cinematic quality to the poems. Some of the speakers talk about being in LGBT+ relationships and the struggles of defining their identities (both sexual and gender) while living with homophobic or gender-conforming parents.
