Abstract
In confessional and lyrical style, the overall 3-part narrative arc follows my life’s journey in terms of the people and situations I bump up against to a more focused study of life’s struggles to a final reflection of the people who made me.
My hope for the reader is three-fold:
First, that the reader enjoys themself--that the specific details create such a strong sense of place that one is transported.
Second, that the reader finds themselves within these lines of poetry—despite the specificity of individual experience, I hope the universal is still communicated.
Third, that the reader is entertained. Albeit dark at times, my overarching tone is playful, reflective, and sometimes humorous.
