Abstract
Don’t Be a Stranger is a collection of three short stories and one novel opening. Most of the work is from the perspective of female characters in Midwest settings. Themes explored include the tension between individuality and devotion, acceptance of loss, the meaning of success, and a longing for new beginnings.
