Final Abstract for URS Program
Gonorrhea is a sexually transmitted infection. In the United States, women have a higher rate of being affected with gonorrhea than men. It's also more common for women that are the ages of 24 and younger that are being affected with gonorrhea. In this project, it will discuss the tragedies that women face while having gonorrhea. Women with gonorrhea often face serious health problems such as PID, if the infection is not treated. If the woman has an active infection of gonorrhea while pregnant, the infection can pass to the newborn at birth. Women with gonorrhea also struggle to get treatment because of the areas they live in or having low income.
