Abstract
"One Finger on the Cold Window" is a collection of stories about what it’s like to look in on another type of life, to attempt things another way in hopes of finding yourself, especially for modern young adults in the midst of a “quarter-life crisis.” Two of the stories, “Mother Nature Walks on Hennepin” and “Window Girl,” focus on young post-collegiate narrators coming to terms with the choices they’ve made and attempting to push forward on different paths. “Our Beach” and “The Bus Stop Dreaming” take place overseas, where outsider characters ultimately fail to blend in, amidst troubling circumstances.
