Abstract
Otherwise, Soft White Ash is a collection of poetry attempting to capture the smallest intricacies of emotional experience within the framework of familial and universal relationships. The poems range from the intensely personal to situations widely inclusive. The language relies on deep and vertical image to convey both symbology and meaning. The poems straddle the lines between myth and reality, often offering windows into universal stories and desires. Delicate and violent, visceral and tender, the poems in this collection offer their reader an opportunity to explore multiple levels of metaphor and intention.
